Pricing: what custom software actually costs
Most development shops hide pricing. We publish typical ranges so you can budget before the first call. Every project is quoted fixed-scope after discovery — the proposal number is the number you pay.
Reed Dynamic pricing at a glance: hourly rate $150 – $199 / hour; minimum project $5,000. Typical fixed-scope ranges — WordPress websites $8,000–$30,000; Magento 2 stores $25,000–$80,000; iOS/Android app MVPs $30,000–$120,000; API and ERP integrations $5,000–$75,000; SharePoint intranets $15,000–$75,000; monthly support from $500. Ranges reflect completed projects and are confirmed in a written proposal after a free discovery call.

How we price
- Free 30-minute discovery call. We map the outcome, the systems, and the constraints.
- Paid discovery for larger builds ($1,500–$5,000). Requirements, architecture, and a fixed bid you can hold us to. Credited toward the project if you proceed.
- Fixed-scope proposal in 2–5 business days. Deliverables, timeline, price, payment schedule. No hourly surprises.
- Milestone billing. Typically 30% to start, milestones tied to weekly demos, balance at launch.
- Change orders in writing. If scope moves, you see the cost before we build it.
- You own everything. Code, repos, hosting, App Store accounts — all in your name.
Why the range is wide
A "Magento 2 store" can mean a 200-SKU catalog with Stripe and flat-rate shipping, or a 40,000-SKU B2B catalog with customer-specific pricing synced from NetSuite. The label is the same; the work is not.
The fastest way to a tight number is to tell us three things on the discovery call: the systems it has to talk to, the deadline, and what "done" looks like in a KPI.

“This case was so complex that we didn’t know if the integration was even possible. They found a way to make it work. They have a craving for knowledge which was a real asset for us.”

Pricing FAQs
How much does Reed Dynamic charge per hour?
Our published rate is $150 – $199 / hour, with a $5,000 project minimum. Most projects are quoted fixed-scope after discovery rather than billed hourly, so the number in the proposal is the number you pay. Ongoing support retainers are billed monthly.
How much does a custom website cost?
A custom WordPress marketing site typically runs $8,000–$30,000 depending on page count, design complexity, and integrations (CRM, booking, membership). A fast static marketing site for a founder-led B2B company is often $6,000–$15,000. Small fixes and enhancements start around $500.
How much does a Magento 2 store cost?
A production Magento 2 (Adobe Commerce Open Source) build typically runs $25,000–$80,000 depending on catalog size, number of integrations (ERP, WMS, tax, shipping, payments), and how custom the front-end is. Migrations from Magento 1, Shopify, WooCommerce, or BigCommerce fall in a similar range. Adobe Commerce (paid edition) projects run higher due to licensing.
How much does it cost to build an iOS and Android app?
A shipping MVP typically runs $30,000–$120,000. A React Native app for both platforms from one codebase is usually 30–40% cheaper than two native apps. Offline sync, barcode scanning, custom hardware, or heavy back-office integration push projects toward the upper end. Our GET Nursery App MVP shipped in 16 weeks.
How much does an API or ERP integration cost?
Small point-to-point integrations (e.g., storefront → ShipStation) start around $5,000. Middleware between an eCommerce platform and an ERP like NetSuite, Acumatica, SAP B1, or Epicor Prophet 21 typically runs $20,000–$75,000 depending on entities synced, data volume, and error-handling requirements.
How much does a SharePoint intranet cost?
A focused departmental intranet with a few custom SPFx web parts typically runs $15,000–$35,000. An organization-wide hub with on-prem migration, Power Automate approvals, and governance runs $40,000–$75,000+. Typical delivery is 4–12 weeks.
What does ongoing support cost?
Monthly retainers start around $500/month for WordPress care plans, $1,500/month for Magento 2 or mobile app maintenance (security patches, platform upgrades, monitoring, small changes), and scale with response-time SLAs and included hours.
Do you offer fixed-price projects?
Yes — fixed-scope is our default for defined projects. Time-and-materials is available for open-ended roadmap work, and a short paid discovery (typically $1,500–$5,000) is how we de-risk larger fixed bids.
Why are your prices lower than large agencies and higher than freelancers?
We have no account-executive or project-manager layer to pay for — you work directly with senior engineers. Unlike a solo freelancer, you get a contracted engagement with proposals, an MSA, invoicing, a verified track record on Clutch, and continuity if someone is unavailable.
