Does my website legally have to be accessible?
If you are a state or local government entity (including public universities, school districts, and municipalities), the 2024 ADA Title II rule requires WCAG 2.1 AA conformance for web content and apps, with compliance deadlines in April 2026 (populations ≥50,000) and April 2027 (smaller entities). Private businesses open to the public face ADA Title III demand letters and lawsuits — thousands per year — with courts and the DOJ treating WCAG 2.1 AA as the de facto standard. Healthcare providers also face Section 1557 requirements. We're developers, not lawyers; we implement the standard your counsel points to.
How much does an accessibility audit and remediation cost?
A WCAG 2.1 AA audit (automated scan + manual testing + screen-reader testing on representative templates) runs $3,000–$8,000 depending on site size. Remediation typically runs $5,000–$40,000 depending on how many templates and components need work and whether the theme has to be rebuilt. See pricing.
Can't I just install an accessibility overlay widget?
Overlays don't make a site conformant, don't stop lawsuits (many defendants using overlays have been sued), and the disability community broadly opposes them. Real conformance means fixing the HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and content. That's what we do.

What does the audit include?
Automated scanning (axe, WAVE, Lighthouse) across the site; manual testing of every template and interactive component against WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA success criteria; keyboard-only navigation; screen-reader testing with NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver; color contrast; forms and error handling; media; PDFs. You receive a prioritized issue list with code-level fixes — and, if you want, we implement them.
Do you provide a VPAT or accessibility statement?
We produce the technical findings and conformance level and draft an accessibility statement; for a formal VPAT / ACR we prepare the documentation for your review or your counsel's sign-off.
